Terms of use

These terms are the rules for using CareerHex. By using the site, you agree to them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian.

CareerHex is run by Monolen, a sole proprietorship in Ontario, Canada. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Monolen. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information, and our refund policy explains when you can get your money back.

What CareerHex is

CareerHex is a career interest quiz based on the Holland (RIASEC) model. You rate 30 activities by how much you would like doing them, and we show you a three-letter career code. The quiz and your top type are free. The full report costs $3 CAD, paid once. There is no subscription and no account.

Your report is information, not advice

Your result and your report are for information only. They are not professional career, educational or financial advice, and they do not measure your skills or ability.

The quiz only knows how you answered 30 questions on one day. Before you make a big decision, talk it over with people who know you, like a counsellor, a mentor, a teacher or your family, and with people who do the work you are thinking about.

Pay and job demand are estimates

The pay ranges and job demand in the report are estimates. None of them have been checked yet against Job Bank Canada (jobbank.gc.ca). Pay and demand change over time, and they differ between provinces, cities and countries.

We do not guarantee that these figures are accurate, complete or up to date. Please check official sources before you rely on them.

Check school and program requirements yourself

The report may suggest programs, courses and how long training takes in Canada. Schools change their requirements often. You are responsible for checking program and admission requirements directly with the school, college, university or other institution before you choose courses or apply.

Buying the full report

  • The full report costs $3 CAD. You pay once.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. You can pay by card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay on devices that support them.
  • Adults pay for themselves. If you are under 18 (19 in some provinces), you need a parent or guardian’s permission to buy the report, and you must use a card or account you’re allowed to use.
  • If your card is not in Canadian dollars, your bank may convert the price and may charge you a fee.
  • The full report appears at your report link right after your payment goes through.

Your report link

Each result has its own private link. Anyone who has the link can see the report, so keep it private and only share it with people you trust. We delete results after 12 months, and the link then stops working. Save or print your report if you want to keep it.

Using the site fairly

Please do not:

  • try to break the site, overload it, or get around the payment
  • send fake quiz results in bulk or use bots
  • copy, sell or republish the quiz or the reports as your own
  • use the site for anything illegal

You are welcome to share or print your own report for personal use, for example with your family, a counsellor or a mentor. We may block anyone who misuses the site.

Our content

The quiz questions, the report text and the website belong to the owner of Monolen, apart from material by others. That includes Job Bank wage and outlook data from Employment and Social Development Canada, used under the Open Government Licence - Canada, and the typeface and icons, used under open licences. Our sources and credits page lists our main sources and the licences we use.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep CareerHex correct and working, but we provide it “as is”. We cannot promise that the site will always be available or free of mistakes, or that any career will work out for you.

Limit on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on your result or report, or for any loss that comes from them. If we are ever found responsible for a loss, the most we will have to pay is the amount you paid us for your report.

Your rights under consumer law

Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot legally be taken away. If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

Which laws apply

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in place when you bought your report apply to that purchase.
